Built-up roofing or “BUR” is one of the best ways to make your large commercial roof watertight for years to come. We have the experience and product knowledge necessary to provide our customers with properly specified BUR systems for the type of roof as well as the desired warranty length.

In a BUR system, multiple plies of salt-saturated organic felt or coated fiberglass felts are adhered with hot asphalt, coal tar pitch or adhesive. The roof membrane is covered with a thick coat of the waterproofing material which is then covered with granules. The granules serve several purposes. First, they protect the roof membrane and waterproofing from ultra-violet rays that break down the materials. They stabilize the temperature changes, protect the surface of the roof and increase the weight of the roof system to resist wind blow-off which is of extreme importance in our tropical climate.

Then, you get handed of to a project manager who installs the roof according to the work order that the office put together. If you ever see that sales person again it will only be to collect final payment!
